Library Director Wins Award

Library Director Elvita Landau was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Mountain Plains Library Association at its recent conference in Sioux Falls.  She was cited for  keeping pace with the community’s needs and desires, expanding and up-to-dating the physical Library, encouraging staff to be creative with programming, and keeping Library technology on the cutting edge.

With Elvita’s leadership, the Library received the accreditation of Exemplary Library by the South Dakota State Library in 2012. This is the highest accreditation the State Library designates.

She served as president of South Dakota Library Association in 1995 and Mountain Plains Library Association in 2010-2011. She remains active in both serving on committees and attending conferences.

Congratulations, Elvita!
