The Library is pleased to announce the results of a community survey conducted June 17-July 3, 2013. There were 697 paper surveys submitted and 47 online ones for a total of 744.
The survey respondents indicated a strong approval rating of the overall services of the Library with 96% of the 744 respondents stating that they were Extremely or Very satisfied with services.
The helpfulness of the Library staff showed an even greater satisfaction with 97% of the respondents stating that they were Extremely or Very satisfied with the service received from staff members.
More than 51% of users come to the Library every week with other attendance spread fairly evenly between daily (8%), bi-monthly (15%), monthly (13%), and occasionally (13%). The majority of use comes in the circulation of books (494) and of audiovisual items (244). Other notable use was Internet use (154), reading newspapers and magazines (149) and attending a Library program (138).
We received 243 comments on the survey. From those comments, we found several areas that the public wants the Library Board to review for change. Those include correcting recent computer lab problems, adding more computer classes, and purchasing more ebooks and newer movies. Respondents also made suggestions for increased hours and improvements to the Library’s website. The Board will discuss these items in the near future.
Thank you all for participating in the Survey!
